About Kelsey

Healing with horses, somatic work, and the quiet wisdom of relationship.

Meet Kelsey

Kelsey Leatherman is a somatic practitioner and healing arts facilitator whose work is rooted in the transformative relationships between humans, horses, the body, and the natural world.

For more than 20 years, she has explored the healing arts through Somatic Experiencing®, nervous system education, breathwork, energy work, animal communication, and horse-guided experiences. Her work is grounded in a simple belief:

Healing is not something we do alone.
It happens in relationship.

With ourselves. With others. With horses. With the living world around us.

Kelsey believes that when we feel safe enough to slow down, listen, and reconnect with our bodies, healing unfolds naturally. Rather than trying to fix what is broken, her work creates the conditions for connection, resilience, and well-being to regenerate through relationship.

Today, she offers private sessions, horse-human relationship support, workshops, retreats, and immersive experiences for people seeking deeper connection—with themselves, their horses, and the life they're longing to live.

ROOTED IN RELATIONSHIP

A grounded blend of somatic, relational, and horse-guided work

Kelsey's work is grounded in more than 20 years of study, practice, and learning alongside horses.

At the foundation of everything is a simple belief: healing happens in relationship.

Her approach integrates Somatic Experiencing®, nervous system education, breathwork, energy work, yoga, circle facilitation, animal communication, and horse-guided experiences.

Rather than applying a single method, she listens—to the body, the nervous system, the horse, and the relational field that emerges between them. What she offers in each session is shaped by what is present, what is needed, and what is ready to shift.

No two sessions are the same. Because no two relationships are the same.

Kelsey’s Healing Philosophy

Kelsey believes healing happens in relationship — with ourselves, with one another, with the natural world, and with the animals who choose to walk beside us.

Her work is grounded in the understanding that we each hold an innate capacity for resilience, clarity, and connection, but we are not meant to navigate our way alone. Horses and nature offer presence, reflection, and honest relational feedback. They help us slow down, listen more closely, and remember what has always been within us.

Through time with horses, somatic awareness, and relational presence, Kelsey creates space for patterns of protection and disconnection to soften, allowing something steadier, more connected, and more alive to emerge.

Be Nurtured by Nature.

  • Kelsey offers an intelligent, well-crafted and supportive plan to improve overall health. However, the true gift of this experience was the careful holding of each individual's needs and the non-judgmental environment she created, which allowed me to be honest, acknowledge my barriers, and begin to creating more loving habits in my life."

  • "I have been working on my relationship with my mother for many years. I was able to clearly set healthy boundaries with her in the past several months and I completely attribute my strength to the tools I have learned! I feel like I also have the tools and support to maintain these boundaries with her. I couldn't have asked for anymore from this course."

  • "The Recovery Reset Program brought not only so much self-love to my daily routine, but also, so much bliss. I learned how to feel into my body; I let go of my process of self-judgement and critique and replaced it with practices that inspire and enliven my days. "
